Overview: Participants will have the chance to learn from two of the nation’s foremost expert physicians in these two highly rare liver diseases. Hear a conversation between providers and panelists about patient-centered care.

Pierre Gholam M.D. Professor of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine; Medical Director, Liver Center of Excellence University Hospitals of Cleveland; Distinguished Attending Physician, UH Cleveland Medical Center; Director, Hepatobiliary Multidisciplinary Disease Team UH Seidman Cancer Center.

 

Speakers:

Naim Alkhouri M.D. FAASLD, Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Transplant Hepatology, Director of the Fatty Liver Program Arizona Liver Health; Director of the Steatotic Liver Program at Northshore Gastroenterology; Director of Research at the Clinical Research Institute of Ohio. Will be speaking in regards to identifying and treating PFIC.

 

 

Emily Ventura Executive Director of Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis Advocacy & Resource Network, INC. She has a strong connection to the PFIC patient community as both a caregiver to a PFIC patient and an advocate.

 

 

 

Fred Askari M.D., PhD, Clinical Associate Professor, University of Michigan Health Michigan Medicine; Wilson Disease Association Medical Advisory Committee Member. Will be speaking in regards to identifying and treating Wilson Disease.

 

Alice Williams Board Member | Wilson Disease Association; Board member of the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD), Patient Partner with University Health Network. Mother of two children with Wilson Disease.
